The woman who shared a ?148million lottery jackpot with her husband and is now separating from him found their gardener 'irresistible', according to a friend.

Gillian Bayford spotted bodybuilding groundsman Chris Tovey, 40, working at a hotel and hired him as a gardener on the 200-acre, ?6million Cambridgeshire estate she had just bought with her husband.

The friend last night claimed that Mrs Bayford, 41, then became 'obsessed' with him and his impressive physique.

But their working relationship came to an abrupt end – Mr Tovey, who is married, claims he was run over by Mrs Bayford's husband on a golf buggy, and is now suing the couple.

Yesterday, Mr Tovey was pictured still on crutches close to his home in Haverhill, Suffolk. Mrs Bayford and her husband Adrian, 43, announced on Wednesday that they are divorcing.

A close friend of Mr Tovey's wife Teri, 32, last night told the Mail: 'Chris had been working self-employed around the area and they invited him to come and see their new house, and offered him a job working for them full-time.

'He seemed to enjoy the job and boasted about how much they were paying him. He said that she wore the trousers in the relationship and whatever she wanted at the house went.

‘But as things went on we started to notice how much she would call him at all hours. You would be with him for the evening and she would call him two or three times. It was as if she was obsessed.'

The friend added that rumours about the nature of their relationship started when they were seen getting close at a party hosted by the Toveys early this year.

She said: 'They did not stop speaking the whole night long and people were noticing. She seemed to be very flirty. At one point he was showing her his watch and she seemed to be stroking his arm.

'At the end of the evening she was the first to leave and Chris walked her to her car, but he was gone for over an hour.

'Teri was going mad in the house.

‘She wanted to go out and challenge them about what was going on, but she said she was scared to make a scene because she could not afford for Chris to lose his job.

'Everyone has always denied that they actually had an affair, but they were certainly close.'

Mr Tovey stopped working for the Bayfords earlier this year after he was seriously injured when a golf buggy being driven by Mr Bayford was involved in a collision.

A relative of Mr Tovey's said: 'Adrian Bayford was driving the golf buggy around the grounds of his estate and Chris was sitting in the back. Adrian clipped a tree and the whole buggy tipped over.

'Chris was trapped by it. It crushed his lower leg. He was rushed to hospital. The doctors were very worried because the blood had stopped circulating around his muscle. He might have lost it.

'He has two massive scars, one down either side of his leg.

‘The Bayfords paid him for a few months but then he was called in to see them.

'He has been treated really badly. He worked his heart out for them. He regularly worked over his hours up at the house without complaint.'

When Mr and Mrs Bayford, who have a daughter aged eight and a six-year-old son, announced their split, Mrs Bayford said that their marriage has 'broken down irretrievably'.

Mr Bayford told the Mail: 'Gillian and I have split. When you win the lottery it's so stressful.

'Things happen. Sometimes in life you have to move on. We're all happy now and life goes on.'

He has moved out of the mansion bought with the EuroMillions jackpot and into a ?500,000, four-bedroom home in Haverhill, where the couple lived before the win.

The couple's win in August last year put them 516th on Britain's Rich List.
Mr and Mrs Bayford have strenuously denied rumours of an affair.

Mr Tovey last night declined to comment, but his wife said: 'He was nothing to do with their marriage.'

Dan Lurie, 90, Star and Promoter of Bodybuilding, Dies – New York Times

The death was confirmed by his grandson Cary Epstein.

Not as recognizable a name as Charles Atlas, Joe Weider, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Lou Ferrigno, Mr. Lurie nonetheless was a celebrity among bodybuilders. For one thing, he was not just strong but freakishly strong. According to his website, Mr. Lurie once did 1,665 push-ups in 90 minutes, and in a photo he can be seen at age 17 holding a 150-pound barbell above his head with one arm.

For another thing, he had a storybook tale to tell: Doctors determined he was born with a heart defect, and they told his parents he was not likely to live beyond his fifth birthday. Yet by the time he was 19 he had finished second over all in the 1942 Amateur Athletic Union Mr. America contest, a competition in which he was judged to have the best arms, the best legs and the second-best back and was voted most muscular for the first of three times. When, in February 1943, he was rejected by the Army because of a heart murmur, the irony was reported in Time magazine and The New York Times.

Mr. Lurie won most-muscular laurels again in 1943 and 1944, but his career as a competitive bodybuilder ended when, after he had appeared in magazine advertisements for bodybuilding equipment, the A.A.U. declared him ineligible for having violated its statutes governing amateurism. (Bodybuilding had yet to emerge as a professional competitive enterprise.) So Mr. Lurie made a name for himself in other ways.

He began opening gymnasiums in the 1940s, and he eventually owned eight in New York City and a ninth in Miami Beach. He was the owner of the Dan Lurie Barbell Company, a manufacturer of exercise equipment that began as a partnership with Mr. Weider after Mr. Lurie, still a teenager, first appeared on the cover of Your Physique, a magazine published by Mr. Weider, in 1942.

By 1948, however, the relationship between the men had soured — in interviews and in his 2009 autobiography, "Heart of Steel," Mr. Lurie accused Mr. Weider, who died in March, of being dishonest — and Mr. Lurie made a success of the business on his own.

Through much of the 1950s, Mr. Lurie appeared weekly on television on "Big Top," a circus show for families. Along with Johnny Carson's future sidekick, Ed McMahon, who played a clown, Mr. Lurie was featured as a strongman who performed weight lifting feats, often to illustrate the healthful attributes of dairy products made by Sealtest, the show's sponsor. Hence his lingering nickname: Sealtest Dan the Muscle Man.

Daniel Lurie was born on April 1, 1923, in Brooklyn and grew up in the borough's Canarsie section. He graduated from Tilden High School, where, though his academic record was spotty, he became the state high school checkers champion, according to his autobiography, written with David Robson.

He was a gifted athlete, excelling in gymnastics and boxing, but he was not allowed to compete in the Golden Gloves boxing tournament because of his heart murmur. In his disappointment, he turned seriously to weight lifting. In addition to training in the gym, he worked with his father, who owned a moving company, hauling heavy furniture.

"To further build my muscles I would carry a piece of furniture up two or three flights of stairs and then 'exercise' on the way down," he wrote. "I had put together several routines that called for certain exercises to be done at certain times. For instance, one routine would require 25 push-ups on the landing of the stairs before I returned to the truck for more furniture. Ten trips meant 250 push-ups."

Mr. Lurie lived in North Woodmere, N.Y. In addition to his grandson, Mr. Epstein, he is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Rothman, whom he married in 1947; a son, Mark; four daughters, Andrea Herman, Jill Kucker, Sandy Carl and Rochelle Lurie; 14 additional grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In the 1960s, Mr. Lurie started a magazine to promote bodybuilding, and some years later he wrote to President Reagan, informing him that as the publisher of Muscle Training Illustrated he was naming him the fittest president in history. Mr. Reagan invited Mr. Lurie, then 60, to the White House, where in February 1984 they arm-wrestled in the Oval Office.

The president, who had just turned 73, won, raising some eyebrows about the legitimacy of the contest.

A White House spokesman told The Times that it was a true test of the president's strength, though he also admitted that a videotape of the event would not be released to the news media.

Mr. Lurie was silent on the matter, but years later, on his website, he confessed that he had thrown the match. "I wasn't going to beat the president," he wrote.

Mr. Lurie was also the founder of the World Body Building Guild, a promotional organization that ran competitions and gave awards to celebrities. He once arranged a ceremony at City Hall in New York to mark the induction of Johnny Weissmuller and Buster Crabbe, two actors who played Tarzan, into the guild's hall of fame. At the ceremony, Mr. Lurie presented Mayor Abraham D. Beame with a model of the Liberty Bell that proclaimed Mr. Beame "Mr. America — 1976."

"You have to do one push-up every morning or give it back," Mr. Lurie said.

"I'll send it back tomorrow," the mayor said.

Last weekend I competed in the biggest competition of my career. I actually went to the Emerald Cup which is held in Seattle. I was on stage with 19 amazing women in my class all over the age of 40, all looking absolutely incredible. I had an absolutely amazing time. We had so much fun because these women are just inspiring to me. They’re incredible. They’re my sisters in fitness and I love them all, and I happened to walk away with the first place finish. But I got to tell you, that’s not what’s important to me. What’s important to me is this journey that I’m on. I love competing because I love to set that goal for myself. It keeps me on track and focused on something that’s larger than just losing weight and being in shape. So, for me, competing works. For you, it might be something else. You maybe set a goal as a photo shoot or a vacation that you’re going to go on, or an upcoming wedding that’s coming up, but I really think those goals, no matter what they are, are really important and it has to be more than just being about weight loss, it has to be more than just being getting into great shape. I talk about that in some other FABulously Fit Fridays. This FABulously Fit Friday, what I’m going to show you is my entire transformation, how I went from 26% body fat–no lie. 26% body fat, cellulite and all. Yes, you’re going to get to see that, lovely as it is, to stage-ready in just a few months. What I did throughout this journey is I documented with photos, and I didn’t get a chance to take them every day but I did take them pretty often. And I documented my journey from the very start at 26% body fat all the way through to about three weeks or so before I stepped on stage, and then I sort of just lost track and stopped taking the photos at that point. There were a couple of reasons why I wanted to show this. One, of course, is to tell you exactly how I did it. I mean, if I can do this, if I can accomplish this as a single mom to an almost teenage boy now and I’ve got a very full career as an executive in an international company, plus I run the site for figure and bikini, plus I do this kind of stuff, plus, plus, plus I got a pretty full life. So if I can do this, anybody can do this. I mean, the fact is that it really isn’t that time-consuming. What I found is, when I preplan my meals and I do everything according to FAB University, it actually makes my life easier. That’s no joke. I hear all the time… I was reading this blog the other day, as a matter of fact, and it was comments from individuals about why they haven’t completed a transformation contest. What makes people drop out of that? Now, the comments were just absolutely fascinating to me. The reasons were pretty consistent. People think that it’s too hard to change their lifestyle, they think they don’t have enough time, and they say they’re just not dedicated enough. Now, I find that very interesting because, you know, the “too hard,” to me, it’s too hard not to do this.

Women's Gym Workout: Butt, Legs, Abs, Arms. Part 2

Female Fitness Model is showing you her workout in the gym so you can get some ideas for your gym workout. She starting off with some leg curls to workout her hamstrings. Then some butt kick-backs to workout her butt, this isolates the glute muscles. Next some hip raises on a decline bench to workout her lower abs. Then she does one leg squats on the Smith rack for her legs and butt. Then barbell Squats to build her butt and legs. And finishes her workout with one arm DB rows for arms, back, and core.
