I want to talk tonight about weight loss. It's a subject everyone is worried about. And the problem is that diets don't work. Everybody has tried a diet. I haven't met a person yet that's hasn't tried something, from kids to people in their eighties; everybody has tried some kind of diet and they just don't work. In recent studies when they looked at a lot of their major diets (some good one's, Atkins, The Zone), they put them all together statistically and found a ten pound weight loss on average. Now, these people lost a hundred pounds and gained it back of course. But, all that work, all that money, all those videos, for ten pounds of weight loss?

So the truth is, we have to find a life style that will allow you to stay at a weight that is healthy for you. That's a much different way of thinking than all this crash dieting that goes on. What you have to learn is how to take care of yourself; you have to learn the appropriate foods; you have to make better choices. That's the only way it's going to work.

The P90X Workout Alternative: Shorter and Cheaper than P90X

http://www.ExerciseRoutinesBlog.com - I describe a great P90X workout alternative. It uses "athletic" workout principles and takes 20-30 minutes per day 4 times per week. And it's much cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, the P90X workout is probably the most popular workout in the world (and for good reason), but it's not for everyone. If you already bought P90X, then don't worry about this video. Just stick with it and get the results you're looking for. But if you're on the fence, and are just put off by the cost, or the effort involved with P90X, you might like this other product I found.

Now to be honest, this P90X alternative workout uses the same principles of "muscle confusion", "after burn effect", "intensity", etc but it's just a lot more condensed.

Atkins Diet Recipes: Buffalo Wings (IF)

These wings are some of the best reasons to go on the Atkins Diet. They are completely legal for all phases of the diet and absolutely delicious. The Diet Coke is a unique ingredient, but it really does the trick. I think by adding the wings to the simmering sauce, the collagen helps thicken the sauce as well.

Ingredients
3 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (Franks Hot Sauce recommended)

* Cut the wings into pieces.
* Mix other ingredients into large pot and start simmering.
* Add wings to pot to give flavor
* Heat Oil to 350-375F degrees
* Add wings to fryer and cook until done (12-14 minutes)
* Add wings back to Buffalo sauce and coat thoroughly

Massive Bowling Ball Shoulder Workout

I'm in Orlando right now, filming a TV segment with the Daily Buzz! I'm super excited for this, and I think it's going to be a great way to get more people started working out and eating right. I'll let you know how it goes, and hopefully I'll have some clips of the show I can post for you guys.

I'm having a blast in Orlando, but I didn't forget about y'all when I was here! Here's a shoulder workout I do in my apartment when I really want to bring out my deltoids. This is a great shoulder workout for men to get the V-shaped body that women love. And when you've got massive shoulders from doing shoulder workouts like this...you'll look MUCH bigger when you are wearing a shirt as well.

Here's how it's done:

DUMBBELL MILITARY PRESS - 4 DROP-SETS: Just like a regular military press, but with dumbbells. Try to arch your back and bend your legs as little as possible to really isolate your shoulders.

UPRIGHT ROW - 4 DROP SETS: Hold the dumbbells in front of you, and row them upwards towards you head. Try to avoid SWINGING the weight up with your back -- stand as straight as possible, and move the weight upwards with your shoulders. I didn't have any lighter dumbbells, but as I said in the video usually I will use a lighter weight than this and use my back less when doing this.

BENT OVER SIDE LATERAL - 4 DROP SETS: Turn the dumbbells OUTWARDS to hit the back of your shoulders. Keep your legs as straight as possible, and bend at the waist -- don't round your back. You should feel a STRETCH in your hamstrings in this bent over position. You'll be very tired at this point...but again, try to isolate your shoulders as much as possible and avoid excess swinging the weight with your back.

HOW TO DO DROP-SETS: To do the drop-sets, do a set of 12, then rest 8 seconds. Then IMMEDIATELY start on your next set. Aim for sets of 12-8-6-4, but it's OK if you do a few more or less reps than this. Just do as many as you can on each drop, and you'll be good. The most important key to drop-sets is that you start on the next set IMMEDIATELY after the 8 seconds are up. It is tempting to rest more, but don't do it! Your drop-sets will be much more effective if you're strict with your rest.

HOW BEGINNERS DO THIS WORKOUT: Do four drop-sets of each exercise like I showed, this equals one round. After the round rest as much as you need to in order to feel fully recovered, then do one more round.

HOW ADVANCED GUYS DO THIS WORKOUT: Just like beginners, except do FOUR rounds. You will really be feeling your shoulders after this!

And that's it! This is one of my favorite shoulder workouts, and I hope you liked it too.

This is what Afterburn Training is all about...getting in more effective "work" in just a few minutes than most people do in 30-45 minutes of gym time. This workout takes about 6 minutes per round, and you'll have done 12 sets -- more than most guys do in double or triple the time.

Killer Ab Workout

This is an advanced ab workout, if you are a beginning bodybuilder please see my website for some more appropriate ab workouts. Just a reminder, ab workouts do NOT remove fat. If you have a beer belly or love handles, you need to do cardio and have better nutrition - doing ab exercises will NOT help. Why do abs? Well, not only because a 6-pack looks really cool but strong abs are key for virtually every sport except tiddley winks. Ab strength is critical for hitting a baseball, whacking a golf ball, and especially in sports involving punching where most of the power in the punch comes from your core. Even if you dont do any sports, a strong core can protect your spine from injury.

Now, people get really confused about ab workouts - do you do them once a week or every day? Do you do high reps or low reps? First lets clear the air, there is no "right" or "wrong" ab workout, it depends on your goals. The abs are like any other muscle, if you want them to get bigger and stronger, you work them out hard with heavy weight and give them plenty of rest between workouts to recover. If you want a small, flat waist like a marathon runner then you do a few minutes of abs everyday with no weight and high reps. If you want a really muscular core like a pro bodybuilder with big ab ridges and deep valleys, then workout with high weight and low rep and allow 5-7 days between workouts (morph zoom). Alles Klar?

OK, so this particular ab workout is for people who want those big abs with deep valleys. Lets get started.

This is going to be a killer 30min workout and were going to do this every 5 to 7 days. We are going to do a five supersets with about 3 minutes between. Each superset is going to consist of the following six exercises.
•crunch at max weight (dead)
•crunch with 50% weight (dead)
•bicycles with 50% weight (dead)
•crunch with 0 (dead)
•bickcles with 0 (dead)
•side plank 2x

At the end of the superset, you are going to be DEAD. Now to prove I can take my own medicine, lets do a superset.

rest 3min, repeat. Many people make the mistake of taking it at first to save energy for the sets at teh end, thats a mistake. You have to give each of the exercises 100% effort as if it were the only exercise you were going to do.

Massive "Bowling Ball" Shoulder Workout

I'm in Orlando right now, filming a TV segment with the Daily Buzz! I'm super excited for this, and I think it's going to be a great way to get more people started working out and eating right. I'll let you know how it goes, and hopefully I'll have some clips of the show I can post for you guys.

I'm having a blast in Orlando, but I didn't forget about y'all when I was here! Here's a shoulder workout I do in my apartment when I really want to bring out my deltoids. This is a great shoulder workout for men to get the V-shaped body that women love. And when you've got massive shoulders from doing shoulder workouts like this...you'll look MUCH bigger when you are wearing a shirt as well.

Here's how it's done:

DUMBBELL MILITARY PRESS - 4 DROP-SETS: Just like a regular military press, but with dumbbells. Try to arch your back and bend your legs as little as possible to really isolate your shoulders.

UPRIGHT ROW - 4 DROP SETS: Hold the dumbbells in front of you, and row them upwards towards you head. Try to avoid SWINGING the weight up with your back -- stand as straight as possible, and move the weight upwards with your shoulders. I didn't have any lighter dumbbells, but as I said in the video usually I will use a lighter weight than this and use my back less when doing this.

BENT OVER SIDE LATERAL - 4 DROP SETS: Turn the dumbbells OUTWARDS to hit the back of your shoulders. Keep your legs as straight as possible, and bend at the waist -- don't round your back. You should feel a STRETCH in your hamstrings in this bent over position. You'll be very tired at this point...but again, try to isolate your shoulders as much as possible and avoid excess swinging the weight with your back.

HOW TO DO DROP-SETS: To do the drop-sets, do a set of 12, then rest 8 seconds. Then IMMEDIATELY start on your next set. Aim for sets of 12-8-6-4, but it's OK if you do a few more or less reps than this. Just do as many as you can on each drop, and you'll be good. The most important key to drop-sets is that you start on the next set IMMEDIATELY after the 8 seconds are up. It is tempting to rest more, but don't do it! Your drop-sets will be much more effective if you're strict with your rest.

HOW BEGINNERS DO THIS WORKOUT: Do four drop-sets of each exercise like I showed, this equals one round. After the round rest as much as you need to in order to feel fully recovered, then do one more round.

HOW ADVANCED GUYS DO THIS WORKOUT: Just like beginners, except do FOUR rounds. You will really be feeling your shoulders after this!

And that's it! This is one of my favorite shoulder workouts, and I hope you liked it too.

This is what Afterburn Training is all about...getting in more effective "work" in just a few minutes than most people do in 30-45 minutes of gym time. This workout takes about 6 minutes per round, and you'll have done 12 sets -- more than most guys do in double or triple the time.

So the truth is, we have to find a life style that will allow you to stay at a weight that is healthy for you. That's a much different way of thinking than all this crash dieting that goes on. What you have to learn is how to take care of yourself; you have to learn the appropriate foods; you have to make better choices. That's the only way it's going to work.

Atkins Diet Recipes: Buffalo Wings (IF)

These wings are some of the best reasons to go on the Atkins Diet. They are completely legal for all phases of the diet and absolutely delicious. The Diet Coke is a unique ingredient, but it really does the trick. I think by adding the wings to the simmering sauce, the collagen helps thicken the sauce as well.

Ingredients
3 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (Franks Hot Sauce recommended)

Instructions:
* Cut the wings into pieces.
* Mix other ingredients into large pot and start simmering.
* Add wings to pot to give flavor
* Heat Oil to 350-375F degrees
* Add wings to fryer and cook until done (12-14 minutes)
* Add wings back to Buffalo sauce and coat thoroughly

I want to talk tonight about weight loss. It's a subject everyone is worried about. And the problem is that diets don't work. Everybody has tried a diet. I haven't met a person yet that's hasn't tried something, from kids to people in their eighties; everybody has tried some kind of diet and they just don't work. In recent studies when they looked at a lot of their major diets (some good one's, Atkins, The Zone), they put them all together statistically and found a ten pound weight loss on average. Now, these people lost a hundred pounds and gained it back of course. But, all that work, all that money, all those videos, for ten pounds of weight loss?

So the truth is, we have to find a life style that will allow you to stay at a weight that is healthy for you. That's a much different way of thinking than all this crash dieting that goes on. What you have to learn is how to take care of yourself; you have to learn the appropriate foods; you have to make better choices. That's the only way it's going to work.

Here are my 3 favorite abdominal exercises in which none involve lying on your back and curling your shoulder blades off the ground, or any type of movement that requires you to perform hundreds of situps while lying on the ground.

These 3 ab exercises can be performed in circuit fashion for an excellent abdominal workout that will work your abs really well and help burn belly fat without placing stress on your lower back.

The first exercise is the ab wheel. To begin you want to put your knees on the ground and place your body in the upright position. Rollout, keeping your back straight, while squeezing your abs and then return to the starting position. Repeat.

Next, you will immediately move on to stability ball jackknives. There are all sorts of variations of this exercise. For example, you can rest your elbows on a bench with your feet on a stability ball, placing your body in a plank-like position. In this case, you will brace your abs and tuck your knees into your chest and then back out.

To make this exercise even more difficult you can do one-leg stability ball jackknives. So, when one leg tucks in, the other kicks out.

You may also want to try stability ball jackknives with a bit of rotation. This will involve bringing your knees to one side and then to the other.

Another alternative is to perform stability ball jackknives with your hands on the ground, with an additional push up added in for good measure.

The final abdominal exercise in this circuit is the cross body mountain climber. Instead of the regular mountain climber where you bring your knees to your chest, with the rotation you are going to bring your knee to the opposite elbow. This way you include a rotation element and work your abs extra hard.

These abs exercises will give you great results, burn belly fat, and get you ripped abs!

Atkins Diet Recipes: Buffalo Wings (IF)

These wings are some of the best reasons to go on the Atkins Diet. They are completely legal for all phases of the diet and absolutely delicious. The Diet Coke is a unique ingredient, but it really does the trick. I think by adding the wings to the simmering sauce, the collagen helps thicken the sauce as well.

Ingredients
3 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (Franks Hot Sauce recommended)

1 can Diet Coke with Splenda
1 tsp cayenne pepper, or to taste

1/2 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 TBS Dried Chopped Onions

Instructions:
* Cut the wings into pieces.
* Mix other ingredients into large pot and start simmering.
* Add wings to pot to give flavor
* Heat Oil to 350-375F degrees
* Add wings to fryer and cook until done (12-14 minutes)
* Add wings back to Buffalo sauce and coat thoroughly
